Hansel and Gretel styling brings a fairytale feel

The kitchen of Fairholme is uncompromisingly cream

The kitchen of Fairholme is uncompromisingly cream. The hand-painted bespoke kitchen has - guess what? - a reconditioned cream Aga.

This was designed to suit this Hansel and Gretel-style Foxrock house. Made by Brian Frew from Cabinet Making Limited (01-868 6723) it cost €35,000 excluding appliances .

The design was chosen for its simplicity and timeless classical look. It is also highly functional with lots of storage and a huge island with a hard-wearing Sienna granite worktop. The kitchen is in a semi-conservatory with three sets of double doors opening out to the garden. It also has a skylight, making it a very light and bright space. The reconstituted Aga came from H and F Enterprises (062 61511) and cost €8,000.

The flagstone tiles are Roman Travertine bought in Aqua Tile (0404 61544 ) and the walls are Farrow & Ball House White. The casual, you've guessed it, cream painted wrought iron and glass chandelier from Hicken Lighting (Freephone 1800 777077) cost €200.
