BRIAN Palmer of The Golden Ball licensed premises in Kilternan, Co Dublin, has been refused planning permission to change and extend the building to accommodate a 50bedroom hotel with three function rooms, diningrooms and leisure centre.

In the city centre, John Byrne's Carlisle Trust has sought planning permission for a three-storey over basement car-park for 68 cars with access off Townsend Street. The development will include over 2,000 square feet of offices and four apartments.
