Tuesday (July 5th)Christie's Old Master and British Paintings, London. Gimcrack on Newmarket Heath, with a Trainer, a Stable-Lad, and a Jockey by George Stubbs £22.4 million (€25 million). Estimate £20-£30 million.

Wednesday (July 6th)Sotheby's Old Master and British Paintings Evening Sale, London. Venice, a view of the Rialto Bridge, Looking North, from the Fondamenta del Carbon by Francesco Guardi £26.7 million (€29.8). Estimate £15-£25 million) - a record price for this artist.
