An Edwardian detached house at 116 Terenure Road West, Dublin 6W, was sold yesterday for £1.7 million after it had been withdrawn at auction at £1.6 million. There were two bidders at the Sherry FitzGerald auction when the bidding opened at £1.3 million.

The five-bedroom house stands on three-quarters of an acre of gardens to the front and rear, with planning permission for two additional houses. The 2,800 sq ft house, Cranford, has most of its original features, including an attractive veranda and Tudorstyle windows. Internally, there is a good sized reception hall with doors leading to the interconnecting drawingroom and diningroom.

Elsewhere in Terenure, Lisney is seeking £500,000 for 7 Fortfield Drive, a four-bedroom semi-detached house, after it failed to sell at auction.

A four-bedroom end of terrace house at 50 Casimir Road, Dublin 6W, was withdrawn at £365,000 by Douglas Newman Good, which is seeking £395,000.

In Rathgar, 41 Orwell Park, a four-bedroom detached house, was withdrawn at £540,000 and is under negotiation through Douglas Newman Good.

Bennetts secured £654,000 at auction for 37 Belgrave Square West, Rathmines, a four-bedroom terraced house.

Sherry FitzGerald achieved over the guide price of £640,000 after auction for 54 Charleston Road, Ranelagh, a two-storey over garden level Victorian house in eight units.

A five-bedroom terraced house, 8 Moyne Road, Ranelagh, made £510,000 through Sherry FitzGerald.

Off the South Circular Road, 12 Sandford Avenue, a mid-terrace three-bedroom Victorian house, was sold at a Ganly Walters auction for £230,000.

A four-bedroom detached house at 2 Roebuck Castle, Clonskeagh, was withdrawn at £380,000 and sold later through Sherry FitzGerald for a higher figure.

In Milltown, Dublin 6, a four-bedroom detached house at 1 Palmerston Grove was withdrawn by Hamilton Osborne King, which is quoting £490,000.

South Dublin

In Monkstown, a double-fronted two-storey over garden level Victorian house at 3 Vesey Place was withdrawn at £775,000 by Lisney, which sold it later for over £800,000.

Elsewhere in south Dublin, a three-bedroom detached bungalow at 6 Avondale Crescent, Killiney, Co Dublin, was withdrawn by Sherry FitzGerald.

In Glenageary, Glasthule House on Adelaide Road, a five-bedroom bungalow on 0.5 acres, was sold at auction for £830,000 by Sherry FitzGerald.

A four-bedroom detached bungalow on 0.25 acres, Naomi, on Albert Road, Glenageary, was sold after auction for £460,000 through Lisney.

Still in Glenageary, 28 Albert Road, a three-bedroom cottage-style house was withdrawn by Lisney, which is seeking £307,000.

In Dun Laoghaire, 7 Rosary Gardens East, a three-bedroom semi-detached house, made £290,000 at a Lisney auction.

In Blackrock, a five-bedroom detached house at 53 Granville Park was sold after auction for over £700,000 by Douglas Newman Good.

The same agent sold a three-bedroom semi at 2 Seafield Drive, Blackrock after auction for £335,000.

A three-bedroom apartment at 7 Glenart, Clonfadda Wood, Blackrock was withdrawn and sold later for over the guide price of £315,000 by Sherry FitzGerald.

Gunne Residential secured over £420,000 after auction for a four-bedroom detached bungalow at 15 Fairyhill, off Newtownpark Avenue.

Close by, a two-storey terraced house, St Judes, off Newtownpark Avenue, was withdrawn at £400,000 by Douglas Newman Good, which is quoting £600,000.

Still in Blackrock, Lisney is seeking £420,000 for 108 Stillorgan Grove, Grove Avenue, a three-bedroom semi-detached house.

In Booterstown, 5 Castle Court, a three-bedroom detached bungalow, was sold at a Hamilton Osborne King auction for £355,000.

A three-bedroom semi-detached bungalow at 6 Linden Lea Park, Stillorgan, was withdrawn by Lisney, which is quoting £295,000.

In Mount Merrion, St Cecilias, a three-bedroom semi-detached property at 60 North Avenue, was sold at a Lisney auction for £330,000.

Hamilton Osborne King sold 28 Shrewsbury Lawn, Cabinteely, a three-bedroom detached dormer bungalow, at auction for £445,000.

Nearby at 109 Shrewsbury Lawn, Cabinteely, a four-bedroom detached house made over £430,000 after auction through Douglas Newman Good.

In Dublin 12, 623 Clonard Road, Kimmage, was sold at a Sherry FitzGerald auction for £226,000.

James Adam is seeking £375,000 for 10 Woodlawn Park, Churchtown, Dublin 14, a three-bedroom bungalow, following its withdrawal from auction at £300,000.

In Saggart, Co Dublin, Hillview, Naas Road, a three-bedroom detached house, made £560,000 through Ganly Walters.

Dublin 2 and 4

A five-bedroom semi-detached redbrick house at 74 Eglinton Road, Donnybrook, was sold at auction for £1.4 million through Sherry FitzGerald.

Sherry FitzGerald secured £655,000 at auction for 89 Belmont Avenue, Donnybrook, a refurbished four-bedroom period house.

A three-bedroom end of terrace house, 118 Donnybrook Manor, was sold at a Sherry FitzGerald auction for £375,000.

Also in Donnybrook, a three-bedroom semi-detached house at 14 Belmont Park was withdrawn at £270,000 and sold later for a higher figure through Gunne Residential.

A two-bedroom fifth-floor 1,030 sq ft apartment, number 62 The Oaks, Herbert Park Lane, Ballsbridge, was sold at a Lisney auction for £445,000.

In Sandymount, 66 Claremont Road, a well-presented four-bedroom semi-detached period house, was sold at auction for a strong price of £725,000 through Sherry FitzGerald.

Also in Sandymount, 16 Gilford Park, a four-bedroom semi-detached house, was sold at a Sherry FitzGerald auction for £710,000.

A two-bedroom apartment, number 2, at 7 Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2, was sold at a Lisney auction for £372,500.

North Dublin

In Glasnevin, Dublin 9, a four-bedroom semi-detached house at 7 Daneswell Road was sold after auction for £245,000 by Douglas Newman Good.

At 6 Cremore Crescent, Glasnevin, a three-bedroom semi-detached house was withdrawn by Sherry FitzGerald, which is quoting £249,000.

In Drumcondra, 10 Glandore Road, a three-bedroom semi-detached house, was withdrawn by Sherry FitzGerald, which is quoting £300,000.

A four-bedroom detached bungalow, The Grange, at Cappogue, Dublin 11, was withdrawn at £210,000 by GWD, which is quoting £240,000.

Sherry FitzGerald fetched over £340,000 for Ardvarna on Thormanby Road, Howth, a three-bedroom bungalow.

A five-bedroom detached house, Knocktarna on Howth Road, Howth was withdrawn at £700,000 by Douglas Newman Good, which is seeking £750,000.

Also in Howth, a house currently arranged in two apartments at 50 Main Street was withdrawn at £366,000 and is under negotiation through Hooke & MacDonald.

Wicklow

A detached four-bedroom house, Ashleigh, on King Edward Road, Bray, was withdrawn by Sherry FitzGerald, which is quoting £475,000.

In Greystones, a three-bedroom detached bungalow, Ardavon, 13 La Touche Close, was withdrawn by Jackson-Stops, which is quoting £290,000.

At the Burnaby, Knockbawn Lodge, a four-bedroom detached house, was withdrawn by H J Byrne, which is quoting £575,000.

A two-room terraced house in need of renovation at 14 Castle Street, Wicklow, was sold at auction for £66,000 by Harrington Lait.

Provincial

In Co Meath, the Raymond Potterton agency sold two properties. A three-bedroom house on 63 acres at Rathfeigh, Ashbourne made over £575,000 after auction.

In Dunsany, an 82-acre non residential farm with a 51,476 gallon milk quota at Belper made £730,000.

A thatched house on three acres, Ballardin, in Dunderry, Co Meath, was withdrawn at £95,000 by Smith Auctioneers, which is quoting £150,000-plus.

Also in Co Meath, a three-bedroom cottage, Pine Cottage on Rooske Road, Dunboyne, was withdrawn at £175,000 and sold later for just under £200,000 by Ronald Duff & Associates.

A terraced cottage at Haggard Street, Trim, Co Meath, was sold at auction for £120,000 through Sherry FitzGerald Royal.

In Co Offaly, a cottage-style house at 44 St Broughans Park, Blacknagh, was sold at auction for £55,000 by Colm McEvoy.

Commercial

In Clonskeagh, Dublin 14, a site with planning permission for 18 apartments on Roebuck Road was sold at auction for £2.65 million through Spain Courtney Doyle.

The Henry Grattan pub at 47/ 48 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, was withdrawn by John Younge and DGD Property Services.

In Dublin 4, Slatterys public house at 62 Upper Grand Canal Street was withdrawn at £1.95 million and is under negotiation through Gunne Commercial.

A two-storey over basement commercial building at 137 Thomas Street, Dublin 8, was sold at auction for £580,000 by McNally Handy & Partners.

Also in Dublin 8, a site with planning permission for two apartments at 5 Fumbally Lane was withdrawn and is under negotiation through Hamilton Osborne King.

In Dublin 9, a site with planning permission for a four-bedroom detached house at 38a Grace Park Road was sold prior to auction for over the guide price of £140,000 by GWD.

Two 18th-century buildings with a site to the rear situated beside the Four Courts at 18 Upper Ormond Quay, 67 East Arran Street and 68 East Arran Street, Dublin 7, was withdrawn by Lisney, which is quoting over £1 million.

In Co Westmeath, Glebe House, Rochfortbridge, 33 acres of land with frontage on to the N6 Dublin-Galway Road was sold after auction for over £1.5 million by DTZ Sherry FitzGerald Davitt & Davitt.

A six-acre site with residential zoning at Sean O'Carroll Street, Ardee, Co Louth, was sold at auction for £1.32 million by Gunne Commercial.

A 1.2-acre site with planning permission for 28 apartments at Cookstown, Ashbourne, Co Meath, was sold at auction for £1.3 million through joint agents Ronald Duff and Grimes.

Also in Co Meath, a 3.7-acre site with planning permission for 18 detached houses at Athboy was withdrawn at £550,000 and is under negotiation through Hamilton Osborne King.

J P & M Doyle fetched over £450,000 after auction for Dorans Centra Foodstore on Main Street, Dunlavin, Co Wicklow.

A four-acre site with planning permission for one or more houses on the Back Road, Malahide, Co Dublin was withdrawn at £1 million and is under negotiation through O'Farrell Cleere.

In Co Waterford, a 2.4-acre site with outline planning permission for an 80-bedroom hotel at the Promenade, Tramore was withdrawn and is under negotiation through Lawrence & McDonald Auctioneers.

Elsewhere in Waterford, The Moorings pub at Davitts Quay, Dungarvan, was sold at auction for £900,000 by joint agents DTZ Sherry FitzGerald and Barry Walsh.

A 1.7-acre site at Rosbercon, New Ross, Co Wexford, made £800,000 through John W. Corish.

Elsewhere in New Ross, a 2.8 acre site on the Mullinavat Road was sold at auction for £160,000 through John W Corish.

Meanwhile, The Ship public house at 2/3 North Street, New Ross was withdrawn and is under negotiation through Morrisseys.

In Co Limerick, a 10,300 sq ft commercial property at Mountmahon, Abbeyfeale, was sold at auction for £410,000 by Rooney.

In Limerick city, a five-storey office block called Munster House, at the corner of O'Connell Street and Hartstonge Street, was sold after auction for over £275,000 by O'Connor Murphy.

Rooney Auctioneers secured £580,000 at auction for the former the Eircom HQ in Clifden.

Also in Co Galway, a warehouse/office building at Oranmore Business Park, Galway, was withdrawn at £630,000 by Keane Mahony Smith
