An imposing bay-windowed period house at 74 Cowper Road, Rathmines, Dublin 6, has a guide price of £500,000 prior to being auctioned by deVere White & Smyth on October 19th.
The four-bedroom, three-storey redbrick house is located in the less expensive sector of Cowper Road, between Upper Rathmines Road and Palmerston Road. This is the first time Number 74 has been on the open market since it was built in 1926 and it is has been in the same family since the 1940s. Although it needs refurbishment, it has retained many of its period features, such as ceiling cornicing and fireplaces.
A tiled path leads up to granite steps and into a small porch. The entrance hall has a decorative ceiling. Off the hall is a diningroom with a marble-effect fireplace and a tiled cast-iron inset.
