Boots sell leasehold interests in shops in North and South

The UK chemists Boots are to sell their leasehold interests in three retail premises in the South and 12 in Northern Ireland. The units form part of the 35 stores recently acquired from Connors Chemists. In most cases, Boots already have chemists in the same areas. The Belfast office of Lambert Smith Hampton is handling the disposals in the North, while the Dublin office will look after the assignments in the south.

Fintan Tiernan says they are inviting offers both for single stores and groups of units which are likely to suit a wide range of traders. The most valuable shop has 5,556 sq ft on Level 3 of The Square in Tallaght, west Dublin, which is rented at £160,000 per annum. Another shop of 3,812 sq ft in the Golden Island Shopping Centre in Athlone was never occupied by Connors, and is being sold virtually in shell condition. The rent in this case is £82,000.
