THE fast-improving road network around Dublin is allowing commuters to buy homes in adjoining counties where prices are frequently lower. The Ross McParland agency is likely to find Dublin buyers for many of the 100 bungalows in a new development at Arklow, Co Wicklow, now that city is a 45-minute drive - outside rush-hour, of course, with the opening of the dual carriageway to north Wicklow. Arklow will have considerable appeal because of its attractive beach and boating facilities not to mention the huge range of golf clubs in the area.

Three-bedroom bungalows in Noonan Construction's latest scheme, The Pines, will start at £104,950 for a unit of 1,050 sq ft.

Families needing more space will have the option of a four-bedroom dormer bungalow with 1,300 sq ft which will have a price tag of £114,950.
