In spite of mixed reports about new house sales in the greater Dublin area, two estate agents experienced strong demand for new homes last weekend. Hooke & MacDonald recorded more than £20 million (E £25.22m) in sales when it sold 112 houses in three separate launches.
At Ridgewood in Swords, the MKN Property Group headed by Sean McEoin sold 42 three and four-bedroom semis and detached houses in the latest phase of a high quality scheme. Prices ranged mainly from £179,950 (€226,923) and £258,000 (€325,346), and with all the homes in the current phase already sold, the showhouses are closing.
In Lucan the same agents sold 24 houses, mainly four and five bedroom detached units at prices from £317,000 (€399,747) to £367,000 (€462,799). A number of three-bed homes in the Larkfield scheme were also booked at £169,950 (€214,312).
Sales were also strong at Woodlands in Arklow where 48 homes were sold by Noonan Construction. Prices started at £125,000 (€157,629) for three-bedroom houses and from £152,500 (€192,307) for three-bed detached bungalows. Richard Bentley and Co was the joint selling agent on this scheme.
Leahy Property Consultants also had a satisfactory sales campaign at the weekend, netting over £6 million (€7.57m) in sales at Blessington Abbey in Blessington, Co Wicklow. All 36 houses in the first phase were sold were sold by Sunday afternoon at prices ranging from £160,000 (€201,765) for three-bed semis to £215,000 (€271,122) for four-bed detached homes. The second phase of 54 houses is being released immediately.
