Six secrets of wine and food pairing to be revealed at Castello Banfi dinner

Wine and food writer Fiona Beckett and wine maker Dante Cecchini coming to Dublin

Fiona Beckett, a UK journalist who has written 23 books on food and wine, contributes to several newspapers and magazines and is the reigning International Wine and Spirit Competition blogger of the year, is coming to Dublin to share her "six secrets of successful food and wine pairing".

She will be guest speaker, along with Dante Cecchini from the Castello Banfi vineyard in Montalcino, Italy, at a wine dinner in Drury Buildings on Tuesday, February 17th at 7.30pm. Chef Warren Massey will be creating a five-course Italian menu to showcase the vineyard's wines, and the ticket price is €60. Reservations are being taken at drurybuildings.com and by telephoning Helen at 01-9602095.

Beckett, who will be answering food and wine pairing questions on the night, blogs at matchingfoodandwine.com. She is being brought to Ireland by Febvre wines for a series of trade tastings as well as the Castello Banfi event, and they’ve given us two tickets for a reader, plus a companion, to attend the dinner. Email your name and telephone number to mp@gallagher-assoc.com by noon next Friday, February 14th to be in with a chance. Please put the words Febvre wine dinner in the subject field. The winner will be picked at random.
