Lidl’s Choose A Taste of Home promotion, in shops this week, features some well-known Irish food producers who supply the chain. Their produce is often sold under Lidl brand names, so it’s not immediately apparent who the maker is; you might be surprised by the stellar line-up.

Giles Clark, studied philosophy and theology at Trinity College but spent his summers interning at some of the world's top restaurants: Chez Panisse, Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, Noma and Alinea appear in his resume. He's now a professional chef, working at St John Bread and Wine, in London, and he will be cooking at the Cake Cafe, in Dublin, on the evenings of February 13th-16th inclusive. Chef and artist

Kevin Dundon welcomes not only the diners but also a guest chef into his kitchen to participate in Dunbrody House’s occasional Tale of Two Chefs events. His next collaboration is with artist Graham Knuttel, who will be part of the kitchen team on March 2nd.

Knuttel will be working with coulis, chocolate and gold leaf, to set off Dundon's six-course menu, which will feature the dish below of smoked poussin with 21-day cured quail egg, walnuts, and chicken and gold vinaigrette. You can book for dinner, which includes the kitchen tour and a reception with cocktails and canapes, plus late-night live jazz in the bar, for €75 per person, or make a weekend of it by booking one-night (€155pp) or two-night (€275pp) packages.
