I love Astral moisturiser. It’s my top recommendation. I know it’s old-school, but I go back to it every once in a while and wonder why I ever left. And it’s not just me either: I gather Joanna Lumley is a lifelong fan.

Boots Botanicals eye make-up remover is one of my top bargain products and the second-best remover I’ve ever used. This is high praise from someone who has gone through dozens over the years. (Lancôme does the best one, but it’s more expensive so I don’t buy it very often). Neutrogena’s deep moisture body lotion is great value and, unlike some products, does exactly what it claims to do.

For skincare, it’s hard to beat Dermologica’s daily microfoliant and its skin-smoothing cream. And as a real treat I love Shu Uemura’s Essential Drops, which are brilliant for luxury hair and scalp care.
