Web's a winnerI never imagined that in search of a recipe I'd reach for the laptop rather than browse through the hundreds of cookery books in my kitchen.

However, having seen a tempting recipe for tandoori-spiced halibut on Gordon Ramsay's The F Word on Channel 4 recently, it was frustrating to find that the recipe in the accompanying book, Gordon Ramsay's Fast Food (Quadrille, £19.99), specified "tandoori or hot Madras paste" without describing how to make either. Having seen Ramsey extol the virtues of homemade over commercial pastes while making this dish on his show, this came as a surprise.

A quick dip into www.channel4. com/fword revealed not just the recipe and method for the whole dish, including the tandoori paste, but also a video clip demonstrating how to make it. Every recipe used on the show is available on the website, which is more than can be said for the book.
