Best Shops map: only one county hasn't voted yet - is it yours?

Thousands of readers have already nominated their favourite shop with Dublin-based stores accounting for 42 per cent of the overall vote. The map below, will show you exactly how your county is performing in terms of shop nominations.

County Wicklow is in second place with 10 per cent of overall nominations while Cork and Tipperary are jockeying for third position each with 6.5 per cent of the nominations and a difference of just five votes between them at lunchtime today. In a country with as many tasty offerings as Cork we’d like to hear  readers shouting about their favourite food and drink shops and market stalls.

Wexford is currently in fourth place with almost 5.5 per cent of the overall vote with the most votes in the best café/teashop and best fashion shop categories.

In the rebel county readers really care about their appearance and are getting behind their fashion boutiques and gift and interior design shops while rivals the stone throwers are championing newcomers.

Judging by the percentage of nominations in the Best Salon category voters in Carlow and Monaghan must be some of the best groomed in Ireland. They account for 58 per cent and 55 percent of the overall numbers vote. In Dublin 30 per cent of readers voted in the Best Salon category.

In Louth readers are most interested in keeping up appearances. Nominations in the best gifts/design/interiors category account for half of the county’s overall vote.

Dublin leads the charge in the Best Shop Window/Display category and Dublin-based readers love of food is reflected in the figures. Dublin market stalls account for 68 per cent of that category’s overall vote while food and/or drink shop shops in the capital account for 43 per cent of its overall vote.

Readers in Galway are really getting behind their favourite online shop and have 10 per cent of the votes in this category.

At the other end of the scale, nominations from Longford are at less than one per cent.

Border country readers we want you to tell us about the shops you love. Readers votes from Cavan and neighbouring Monaghan also stand at less than one per cent each.

Shoppers in counties Armagh and Tyrone are similarly unsupported. And Country Fermanagh hasn’t a single nomination yet though we know the county has some great shops.
