Best Boutique
WINNER: Juju, Greystones

If you were to draw up a list of what you want in a local boutique, chances are you would find it all at Juju in Greystones, Co Wicklow. Juliette Ledwidge's shop at La Touche Place has great everyday wear and high-fashion finds, and an atmosphere that makes you want to spend time there.
"She has a great eye and really knows her customers," says Simon Pratt. "The shop has an aura and reasonates with her customers. She's also a phenomenal saleswoman, something that is equal parts amazing and terrifying to any man crossing the threshold. Garments given on appro, to try on at home, rarely make it back into the shop."
Through the recession the store has thrived by adapting the buy to focus on high-fashion daywear rather than occasion wear and elevating its personal shopping service, Ledwidge says. If clients can't visit the shop, she will make house calls. As well as a smart international edit, Juju champions Irish designers including Lucy Downes' Sphere One, Sian Jacobs, Melissa Curry jewellery and Susannagh Grogan scarves.
Ledwidge was one of the first boutiques to stock Tipperary-born Tim Ryan, who was recently welcomed into Net-a-Porter's digital embrace. New Irish knitwear brand, & Daughter is one of the new labels she's stocking for autumn/winter 2014.
In business for nine years, Ledwidge is also community minded. Recently, she organised a charity event in a setting outside the boutique to get customers to donate clothes for a charity sale – it raised €15,000 for a local child who needed medical help.

“More than any other shop owner, Clodagh Shorten has been unafraid to champion new and directional labels and bring high-fashion to Corkonians,” says Eddie Shanahan.
