lash it on

If there is one item on the beauty catwalks that screams NOW, it must be false eyelashes. Like high heels, up-styled hair and red lipstick, you cannot help but feel glamorous when batting lashes that aren't your own. Perfect for parties, they were invented by Hollywood director D.W Griffith almost 100 years ago. Griffith had a wig maker weave human hair through pieces of gauze, which were then glued to leading actress Seena Owen's lids.

The sophistication of modern lashes means that some can be worn for weeks at a time, but the ones in our photograph are strictly for one night only. The largest selection of false lashes in Ireland is to be found at the One Salon in Dublin, which caters for every lash need, from a few strategically-placed single lashes that will last up to a week and a half, to the full-on glamour of eyebrow-sweeping lashes as seen in our photograph. These have the benefit of being reusable. Further details from 01-6336517.
