Lavish Irish made costumes in 'A Little Choas'

The lavish costumes in A Little Chaos, a new movie with Kate Winslet and Alan Rickman and scripted by Alison Deegan, about a female landscape gardener who constructed the grand garden at Versailles for Louis XIV, were made in Capel Street, Dublin. Though the movie was shot in the UK , it is the first time, costume designer Joan Bergin reckons, where part of a starry feature film shot in another country had the period wardrobe built in Dublin. "These skills were honed from The Tudors to the Vikings in the Ardmore and Ashford studio costumes workshops," she says and their quality and splendour have drawn praise in what was a tightly budgeted independent movie.
