I'm a sucker for good, budget beauty supplies. Rimmel Scandaleyes Extreme Mascara is brilliant. I love the brush, which is one of the rubbery types, quite like Benefit Roller Lash. The mascara is lovely on, and it can be built up for more effect and doesn’t clump or run down towards your cheeks. It will set you back €8.99.

While I’m on the subject of bargains, I have to mention NYX. This is a great brand, which is just beginning to infiltrate pharmacies. The eye pencils are great. The NYX butter gloss is lovely; it won’t last all day, but it’s not sticky and the colour is sheer enough so it’s perfect for everyday wear. These cost €6.49 and there is a huge range of shades.

The NYX HD concealer is probably my favourite product. I use it under my eyes; it really highlights the area, making me look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, which is an achievement some days. It costs €6.99 and comes in a great range of shades; I use CW 02.
