Aisling’s picks: Magical melting balms, rosacea calming serum and a brilliant liquid liner

Plus a brand that should be a lot cheaper than it is and a rich cleansing oil with lots of skin benefits

Clinique Moisture Surge Melting Mask Balm €32

Clinique are knocking it out of the park with their skincare lately and this tiny pot of magical goo is my latest love. Initially solid, it melts into oil upon contact with warm fingers and you only need the tiniest amount to use it as a ten minute face mask or an overnight treatment.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips €10.89 iherb, €16 in Irish outlets

This US brand launched in Ireland months ago and I didn't cover them because the markup on the products was extreme. In the US the prices are akin to Essence, here they're lining themselves up with L'Oreal. It sticks in my craw when brands do this because products like this one are pretty and a nice knockoff of Bobbi Brown.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Replenishing Cleansing Oil €30

Not simply a cleansing oil, this liquid is packed full of ingredients to replenish skin and replace lost moisture. Ceramides (a type of naturally occurring lipid), omegas 3, 6.9, vitamin E and botanical oils make this cleanser rich and nourishing. Plus, the bottle is huge so it will last for yonks.

Burt’s Bees Miracle Salve €6.50

I’m often teased about my love for Burt’s Bees and that’s because people don’t understand how brilliant their products are. This pumpkin seed based solid salve is all types of amazing, creating a barrier to protect skin, hair and nails from the onslaught of winter weather.

Exuviance Anti Redness Calming Serum £52

As soon as I see a treatment for rosacea I am immediately interested because I know so many people who suffer with this dratted condition. This serum has ingredients that can reinforce the skin’s barrier and contains calming ingredients such as algae extract and liquorice.

AISLING LOVES

Sisley So Intense Eyeliner €47.50

I’m in crazy stupid love and it’s all because of the best liquid liner I’ve ever tried. The line drawn is a deep black (not a weak watery black that you get with so many eyeliners), the pen is precise and makes it easy to draw a perfect line. In short: if you’re an eyeliner lover you have to have it.
