Mary Lohan: Dreams of Landscape

As part of a series of exhibitions marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of WB Yeats, Mary Lohan shows her recent landscapes, some based directly on Sligo and some elsewhere. As Lohan sees it, Yeats characteristically sums up a landscape in just a few words, allowing us imaginative space to occupy it. Her spare, clear, coastal views aspire to do that as well.

Belfast's historic centre hosts its 16th annual festival with a selection of stalwart touring shows and local productions, including a typically provocative new play by Martin Lynch. My English Tongue, My Irish Heart (Waterfront Studio, 7.30pm) brings together a pair of 21st-century emigrants from either side of the border and religious divide. Intriguingly based on an academic study of Irish literature, it also boasts the opportunity for the audience to get involved. Also showing this evening is Lanciatore: The Juggling Man (Belfast Circus School, 7.45pm), a recession comedy set among a gang of gamblers in medieval Italy.
