At Town & Country's most recent auction in its Lower Ormond Quay rooms in Dublin, a Victorian mahogany D-end dining table, with turned column fluted legs, fetched £2,300. A set of eight 19th century Sheraton style dining chairs, decorated with satinwood oval panels and ebonised stringing made £1,300.

Other notable prices at the same sale included £1,150 for a Victorian mahogany extension dining table; £1,000 for a late Hicks, mahogany Regency style three pillar dining table; £900 for a George IV mahogany longcase clock; and £820 for an early 19th century oil on canvas, Dance of the Boy Angels, after Van Dyke.
