Rod Lurie's Nothing But the Truth, recently released in the US, fictionalises the outing of Valerie Plame (the excellent Vera Farmiga) as an undercover CIA agent. But the soapy film's focus is on New York Times journalist Judith Miller (an unconvincing Kate Beckinsale) who broke the story and was jailed for refusing to identify her source.

Plame will be the central character in Fair Game, the movie based on her recent memoir, to be directed by Doug Liman. With Naomi Watts cast as Plame, Sean Penn is in negotiations to play her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson, who accused the Bush administration of manipulating intelligence to justify the invasion of Iraq.
