YOU can say what you want, but chart-topping comeback kids Texas have cancelled their scheduled gig at Dublin's Red Box on Friday 2nd May. The gig has fallen foul of those pesky "logistical problems", which will get you every time. Tickets will of course be refunded at point of purchase.

U2 gig latest: Having gotten the go-ahead from the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht to initiate the planning process, Dublin Corporation has published a notice in The Irish Times, stating its intention to stage the gig on a 49-acre enclosed site in the Phoenix Park on Saturday August 30th. The proposed U2 concert will have a maximum capacity of 100,000 people, and will run from 6.30 to 10.30 p.m.. Details of the proposed development, plus an environmental report, can be viewed at Dublin's Civic Offices, and there's also a public notice on display in the Phoenix Park Visitor's Centre. Concert promoter Jim Aiken is confident that the concert will go ahead. "I think it will happen," he told The News. "We should be proud of U2's success - they've put Dublin on the map. They've brought film stars, pop stars and supermodels into the city, and now we don't bat an eyelid when we see Jack Nicholson or Naomi Campbell walking around.
