Sean Penn vanishes

It's not unusual for characters to disappear from movies during the editing process, but these are generally minor roles, such as the man (played by a then-unknown Kevin Costner) whose death brings together his friends in The Big Chill. Now, however, Sean Penn's character has been removed entirely from the immigration drama Crossing Over, which stars Harrison Ford and opens in the US next Friday. Crossing Overreportedly "experienced a bumpy journey to the screen due to supposed post-production disagreements", according to a trade source.
