A hit at the Edinburgh Fringe a few months ago, Beardyman's One Album Per Hour show sees him add comedy and improv to his enviable range of talents. In a nutshell, Darren Foreman's aim is to make a full album in the space of 60 minutes using his Beardytron 5000 Mk II production system and inputs from the audience on song themes and titles. Expect chaos, spills, giggles and some fantastic musical chops.

As part of the Festival of Curiosity, broadcaster Jonathan McCrea and chef Ivan Varian present Gulp. A few audience members will be dragged on stage to eat raw lemons that taste sweet, suck on a scorpion lollipop, or dig into some fried brains. Those in the stalls can learn how to cook sous vide with a cooler box, eat some dry-ice cream or taste engineered anti-food.
