The best advice you can receive is not to look back – there are too many ghosts hanging about, too many regrets being shoved into your face.

If that’s the case, however, then why does Los Angeles band Vintage Trouble remind the listener of too many nights in dirty, noisy, elbow-digging, floor-sticking dive bars around the world?

Defining the word “retro”, the band – which supported AC/DC at Dublin’s Aviva stadium in July – aim to transport us back to a pre-Technicolor time when soul meant just that.

Channelling the likes of Otis Redding, James Brown, Wilson Pickett and other soul/blues-era greats, Vintage Trouble righteously funk it up.

Of course, deja vu kicks in here and there, but the band’s fidelity to the source material is committed to the point of obsessiveness. Sweet? Sweat, too.
