He even turned down numerous labels to self-release his debut single, Icarus. Not that he'll have any problems: he's ruddy brilliant.

** Will.I.Am managed to set himself up for an obvious joke when he told BBC Newsbeat: "I've written songs right from a sleep. Have you ever had a dream where there's a melody in your dream? I'll wake up out of my sleep and record that!" He added " I Gotta Feelingwas one of those songs. From a random mumble, listening to conversations in the back and making sense of melodies."

** Nicki Minaj is spending her money as quickly as she can make it, she tells Vogue. "I bought tons of Louis Vuitton bags. When you're a young girl from Queens, you're going to stock up on those bags." It's a far cry from her past, when she admits she "was dressing in Tommy Hilfiger baggy shirts and Boss jeans, but then I met a person who dressed like a tiny lady – pantsuits, heels, lots of make-up."

** Selena Gomez is a changed woman, according to Top of the Popsmagazine. The Bieber-dating lass confirmed that she's put pretences away.

“I’ve conformed to a lot of guys that I liked before; it’s very easy to want to be what they want you to be. But in the end, it just wasn’t enjoyable – I was miserable half the time. The best person you can be with is someone you can be yourself with.”

She’s also finished messing about, apparently, stating “I’ve played games in the past, but now I’ve finally met someone who makes me not play games. If you’re playing games, you need to ask yourself if that person is really for you. Games are silly.”

We hope this doesn’t mean she’ll throw away the Scrabble set we bought her for her birthday.
