Kidsis the kind of song that always works – infectious, inherently melodic, brilliantly simple shape-shifting pop at its best. That it arrived virtually intact from a Brooklyn duo named after a human gene was little surprise – it's the kind of quirky stuff that Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser are good at. A few years ago, MGMT were on all the Ones to Watch lists, which they've validated since the release of their 2007 debut, Oracular Spectacular.

This Grammy-nominated duo, supplemented live by musicians, is due to release the follow-up to Oracular Spectacularnext month; the album, Congratulations, looks set to leapfrog over all their achievements so far. Couldn't happen to a better band that named themselves after a human gene, really.
