For some reason, 24-year-old Jessie J (aka Jessica Cornish) is somewhat unloved by the hipster pack. Boo hoo, etc. Not that the former Brit School alumni (she graduated in 2006, the same year as Leona Lewis and Adele) seems overly concerned at such a state of affairs.

Cornish began minting it several years back by writing songs for the likes of Miley Cyrus and Chris Brown, but then got the notion that she’d like a pop at the fame game herself. So far, so good, then, with a succession of hit singles (Do It Like a Dude, Price Tag, Who Are You, Domino, Laserlight) that have already made her a record breaker (she’s the first British female pop star to have six Top 10 hits from one album).

Next year Jessie J starts her first arena tour. Next week she performs for two nights in a tent in Cork. If you’re a fan, where would you really prefer to see her?
