Piotr Beczala: Heart’s Delight

Lyric tenor Piotr Beczala has had great success performing in major international opera houses. This disc is a tribute to the great Richard Tauber and contains many if not most of his operetta hits. Tauber's singing in this repertoire was greatly loved, and presumably Beczala has the same audience in his sights. The result is a nostalgic journey to the world of operetta, where evergreen favourites are sung with taste and sensitivity. Lippen schweigen is a beguiling duet with Anna Netrebko, and Du bist die Welt fur mich uses modern technology to create a fascinating duet with Tauber's his 1934 recording of that aria.
