She’s a little bitta this and a little bitta that, that’s what Paloma Faith is. The Hackney- born singer/actor has been a life model and a St Trinian’s sugababe. She’s appeared in burlesque shows, been a sales operative at Agent Provocateur and – best of all, surely? – a magician’s assistant. Faith jettisoned all of this when she signed to a major label a few years ago.

Very much in tune with her own talent (she famously refused to join Amy Winehouse’s band because she wanted to perform her own songs), Faith has been a regular presence in various pop music charts since the release last September of her debut album, Do you Want the Truth or Something Beautiful? If you like a little bitta Amy and a little bitta Duffy, you’d be well advised to check her out.
