Matt Brewer: Mythology

Over the past decade, bassist Matt Brewer has worked for some of the most forward- thinking leaders and composers on the New York scene, including Greg Osby, Steve Coleman, Vijay Iyer and David Binney. That gave Brewer plenty of opportunity to study the methods of these masters and plan his own debut album. The apprenticeship pays off on Mythology: Brewer's tunes are intelligent but not overly complicated, profound but not impenetrable.
