MUSIC NEWS:Some of the biggest names in pop music will make a flying visit to Belfast next month, as the city hosts the MTV Europe Music Awards for the first time.

Lady Gaga, Adele and Katy Perry are among the artists nominated for awards at the Odyssey Arena show on Sunday, November 6th, and although organisers have yet to confirm who will be performing on the night, there are usually several big names on the bill.

The list of nominees was announced earlier this week, with Lady Gaga leading the pack with six nominations. Adele, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber have also clocked up several nominations apiece, as well as artists from non-pop genres such as Foo

Fighters, Arcade Fire and Kanye West – but there are no Irish nominees in any category, not even Best UK and Ireland Act.

The show will be broadcast live on MTV from 9pm on the night.
