Artist: Karin Krog & Steve Kuhn
Genre: Jazz
Label: Meantime

Steve Kuhn first met singer Karin Krog nearly 50 years ago, when the celebrated American pianist was based in Stockholm, and the two have collaborated repeatedly in the decades since.

It’s that history that you hear when the two old friends get together in Avatar Studio in New York for this catch-up.

There's a mix of old standards (I'm Old Fashioned, Everytime We Say Goodbye) and classic be-bop tunes (Tadd Dameron's Trane, Kenny Dorham's Scandia Skies) with lyrics by Krog, with the late trumpeter Lew Soloff and tenor saxophonist Eric Alexander guesting on three tracks each.

On the surface, a very straightforward recording that won’t scare the horses, but it takes long experience and great skill to make music this simple.
