Dublin session for music academy

A workshop for the Red Bull Music Academy is taking place in Dublin next weekend

A workshop for the Red Bull Music Academy is taking place in Dublin next weekend. The programme, which has run annually in different cities around the world since 1998, offers up-and-coming musicians, producers, singers and DJs the chance to gain insight and advice from top professionals – many of them well-known artists – by flying them to the host city for two fortnight-long terms and teaching them best practice for their chosen roles.

Applications are open at redbullmusicacademy.com.

Although the main event is taking place in Tokyo this autumn, sessions are held in up to 50 participating countries throughout the year.

The next Irish one takes place in the Block T venue in Smithfield, Dublin, from 6pm on March.

Musician David Kitt will talk about his songwriting process, there'll be a exhibition by music photographer Brian Cross aka B+, and Olan O'Brien will discuss his own experience as founder of All City Records, as well as the future of indie labels.

Admission is free, but places are limited and must be reserved by emailing info@choicecuts.com.
