Galway’s ensemble in residence makes one of their all-too-rare visits to Dublin this week. Mozart (the Hunt Quartet and the Clarinet Quintet with Claudio Mansutti) and Bartók (the Six Romanian Dances) are on the menu when the ConTempo String Quartet perform at the Hugh Lane Gallery on Sunday. They’re also playing Mozart (Eine kleine Nachtmusik and some divertimentos) in a lunchtime concert in Galway on Tuesday, and they offer Christmas music with Strauss polkas and waltzes in an afternoon concert at Áras na Mac Léinn on Thursday.

There are further lunchtime concerts in Galway on December 14th (at City Hall) and 15th (at the Kenny Gallery, Liosban Industrial Park). And the good news is that all are free.
