. This is the work of a champion in the making.

Silver first began making electronic pop in his bedroom when he was a teenager. Back then, he was figuring out how to get beeps and bleeps from his computer to emulate what he heard when he listened to DJ Shadow. In the years that followed, DJ sets at Montreal club nights have seen Silver locking down his style of electronica.

Silver first came to wider attention with remixes for Crystal Castles, Health, The Presets and Cassie (the latter a sweetly futuristic take on her Official Girl). His Panesian Nightswas proof that he could also come up with the goods under his own steam. The EP is full of electropop with layers of enigmatic atmospherics and elegant synths. It was clear that Silver's work in progress was going in the right direction.

At night, like some geeky Clark Kent, he turns into CFCF, the producer who fights musical villains with shimmering, atmospheric electronica. It can only be a matter of time before Michael Silver leaves the rag trade behind once and for all.
