Aah, Myspace strikes again! Six years ago, singer-songwriting American ingenue Ingrid Michaelson was teaching theatre to a bunch of kids when she received a phone call from a music manager, who had discovered her tunes on her Myspace page. Within a year, Michaelson's music was soundtracking hit US television shows (Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, Bones, One Tree Hill) and ads for clothes companies. Human Again continues the singer's knack for crafting utterly melodic pop songs that, perhaps instinctually, you'd rather not admit to really liking but which are so ruggedly structured you'd be silly to deny their strengths. And so This Is War, Palm of Your Hand, Keep Warm and End of the World provide the kind of warm, engaging (yet rarely edgy) pop music that's incredibly easy to hum along to.
