The rise of Annie MacManus continues – this may well be 2009's best mix-album released by someone from Dundrum. Very much a fixture at BBC Radio One, MacManus is now gigging festivals, touring clubs and hosting TV shows (such as Other Voices). Like her radio shows, Annie Mac Presentscollates and mashes up the tunes that have captured clubland's attention in the past 12 months. She has a good ear for the pop remix that can reboot and rejig the likes of La Roux, Florence The Machine and Bat for Lashes, but she's also partial to such finely tuned sonic explorers as Boy 8-Bit, CFCF and the boomtastic Major Lazer.
