DanceHouse birthday eventsDanceHouse's Celebration Week starts today with a series of informal performances from 2pm until 7pm. Independent choreographers such as Joyce Richardson (flamenco) and Mairead Vaughan join veterans such as the Irish Modern Dance Theatre. There is also a chance to see Nick Bryson and Cristina Goletti (now performing as Legitimate Bodies Dance Company), who had a striking Dublin Fringe Festival debut last year.

Tomorrow evening offers free taster classes in ballet, contemporary dance, Gyrokinesis®, jazz, Pilates, Aikido, drama, salsa, flamenco and Strictly Come Dancing.

On Wednesday evening the book, Youth Dance Outreach: Best Practice, will be launched followed by short performances by Flashdance, Larkin Community College, Irish National Youth Ballet and the Rachel Good School of Dance.

On Thursday evening there will be more taster classes in Gyrokinesis®, jazz, Pilates, bellydance, yoga, contemporary dance, Kalichi's Dance Liberation Workshop, Aikido, ballet, hip hop and flamenco. Throughout the week there will be a photographic exhibition by Norabeth Hogan and screenings of dance videos.
