I was recently in Dubai, a city surrounded by desert. As in Dublin, you find mineral-water vending machines on the streets. A bottle of water there costs a dirham, or about 25c. Here, a country surrounded by water, with rain every other day and more lakes and rivers than the whole of the Middle East combined, prices range from €1.10 to €1.40. Rip-off Ireland?
