January 18th, 1916 Dublin Metropolitan Police detective department: daily report on "Movements of Dublin Extremists".

“I beg to report that on the 17th Inst., the undermentioned extremists were observed moving about and associating with each other as follows: “With Thomas J Clarke, 75 Parnell St, John McGarry for quarter of an hour from 12 noon. John O’Hurley, Limerick, for half hour between 1 & 2 pm, John Milroy for 10 minutes between 7 & 8pm ....

“John Neeson left Amiens St by 6.35 am train for Drogheda. Pierce McCann left Kingsbridge by 3pm train for Cashel. RIC in each case informed.

“E de Valera (pictured) , M O’Hanrahan, Thos McDonagh, and JJ O’Donnell in 2, Dawson Street, between 9pm and 11pm.

“A meeting under the auspices of the Gaelic League to protest against the withdrawal of grants for education in Ireland was held in the Round Room of the Mansion House between 8pm and 11pm.
