Over 25,000 books for Belfast event

Some forty-one dealers in old books, prints, postcards and maps will be taking part in today's Belfast Book Bonanza in the Wellington Park Hotel on the Malone Road. More than 25,000 books will be on offer at the event, now in its 16th year, with the most sought-after items covering local history and topography, such as John Rutty's 1772 Natural History of the County of Dublin and Walker's Historical Memoirs of the Irish Bards from 1784. The fair opens to the public at 10 a.m.

New dealers to take part in Cork fair

The 10th annual Cork antique and fine art fair opens tomorrow afternoon in the city's Jury's Hotel and runs until next Tuesday evening. Many new dealers are taking part this year, and among the participants, both familiar from previous fairs and making their debut, are Carol's Antiques and George Stacpoole of Adare, John Farrington, Nora Lucey and L & W Duvalier of Dublin, Moycullan Antiques and McGuire's Antiques of Galway and Westport's Satch Kiely.

Limerick event to have £3m worth of antiques

In a busy weekend for antique fairs, the twice-yearly Limerick event is being held tomorrow from 11 a.m. at the Limerick Inn Hotel. With over 50 stands, the organisers estimate the total value of antiques available to be in the region of £3 million.

Furniture and small items suitable for Christmas gifts will be particularly prominent, as well as jewellery, silver, paintings and prints, militaria, china and porcelain.

Children's book feature of fair in Dublin

A combined antiques and books fair will be held in Dublin's Newman House tomorrow. Among books, a good selection of children's illustrated works will be on show, including work by Nielson, Rackham and W.H. Robinson, along with various volumes on golf and fishing. Then there are 19th-century prints, silver, porcelain, collectable toys, linen and lace.

Carltonware and Goss china at Dublin Castle

Tomorrow's Dublin Castle antiques and collectables fair is to feature a rare framed collection of NASA badges, as well as a collection of Carltonware and Goss commemorative china.

There will also be a large range of china dating from the 1900s, as well as Victorian and Edwardian gold and silver jewellery, dress jewellery, and a selection of paintings, prints, books and old toys and curios.
