Marvel’s masterplan - here's the MCU superhero schedule from now till 2019

From Dr Strange in November to Avengers: Infinity War Part Two in mid-2019, the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase Three is just about complete

This may easily have passed you by, but Marvel's latest big release Captain America: Civil War – in which the superheroes do super-squabbling – takes the Marvels Cinematic Universe into "Phase Three". (Since you ask, Phase Two began with Iron Man 3.) Here's a full rundown of what is still to come.

DOCTOR STRANGE
(November, 2016)
Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the brainy wizard with the huge collar.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2
(May, 2017)
Follow-up to the smash featuring hitherto less well-known intergalactic smartasses and their twig.

SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING
(July, 2017)
Disney has clawed Spidey back from Sony and handed the costume to the likable Tom Holland.

THOR: RAGNAROK
(November, 2017)
You have a year-and-a-half to memorise that title. Taika Waititi of Eagle v Shark directs.

BLACK PANTHER
(February, 2018)
Chadwick Boseman stars as the African prince who fights crime as a man-cat. Like the new Spider-Man, Black Panther debuted in Civil War.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART ONE
(May, 2018)
"Part one" no less. The next Avengers film references, we assume, a Marvel series named Infinity War from 1992.

ANT MAN AND THE WASP
(July, 2018)
Paul Rudd is not far away but he really is very, very small. Evangeline Lilly is the equally tiny Wasp.

CAPTAIN MARVEL
(March, 2019)
Almost nothing has been settled about this yet. Indeed, the picture may turn out to concern "Ms Marvel". Let's see how Wonder Woman does.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART TWO
(May, 2019)
The MCU decade comes to a close with another Avengers project. This will continue until 10 years after we are all dead. Prepare for Phase Four!
