What would we do without Gérard Depardieu? If he’s not weeing in planes, he’s boasting about youthful indiscretions or saying rude things about Juliette Binoche. Now the French actor has been accused of punching a motorist in a road-rage incident. It appears the dispute started when his scooter collided with a motorcar in Paris.

The argument escalated and reached newsworthy status when Gérard allegedly clobbered the driver in his unfortunate face. The motorist lodged a complaint with the prosecutor. Gérard responded by submitting a counter-complaint for dangerous driving. “My reaction was perhaps a little over the top because I was very scared,” the great man said. “Some people just see me and file a complaint.”
