We have great faith on Darren Aronofsky, but his latest venture sounds – even from the director of The Fountain – like a most unusual beast. The director is moving ahead with his much-discussed biblical epic on Noah and, having slotted Russell Crowe into the lead, has suggested Ray Winstone to play the villain. Aronofsky’s Black Swan was a surprise hit – Fox’s biggest film of 2010 – but it would be a brave studio that put up the rumoured $130 million for such a project.
