A RARE collection of early Irish stuffed toy animals will be among the items for sale at an antiques and collectables fair in the Davenport hotel, Merrion Square, Dublin, tomorrow. The collection includes a hare, rabbits, penguins and cats. The toys were made by Kingram Irish Toy Industry, Dublin and date from the 1920s.

There will also be a collection of dolls - some German - complete with original clothes, for sale as well as other toys. Other items of special interest include Victorian and Edwardian furniture, gramophones and a wide selection of china, Victorian linen and antique jewellery.

The fair, which begins at 10.30 a.m., is being organised by Old Coach House Fairs, which runs fortnightly fairs at Dublin Castle. That venue, of course, is currently being used for the EU Presidency.
