In yesterday's report on the suspension of the threatened Aer Lingus strike, the Labour Relations Commission was incorrectly referred to as "the conciliation arm of the Labour Court". The LRC is a statutory body in its own right whose conciliation service is complementary to the role of the Labour Court.

A report headed "Removing the stain of slavery" in the editions of April 7th referred to a donation to the University of Mississippi by Jim Barksdale "of Microsoft". Jim Barksdale is former CEO of Netscape. He never worked for Microsoft.

Where errors occur it is the policy of The Irish Times to correct or clarify as soon as practicable.
