Judge Michael Pattwell yesterday refused to hear a robbery case in Youghal District Court after hearing an outline of the facts of the case from a Garda inspector. The judge said it was "too serious a matter" for the District Court and remanded Mr Mark Power (23) in custody with consent to bail to Youghal court on May 23rd for service of the book of evidence. Mr Power, of Dermot Hurley Estate, Youghal, is charged with robbing Mr Patrick Whelan (68) of £30 at Kilmagner, Youghal, on March 28th.
