THOMAS P ADAMS & Co of Blackrock, Co Dublin, reports that last Tuesday's auction was so well attended that people were actually queuing outside the front entrance". Inside the premises, a pair of Victorian three tier mahogany dumbwaiters made the day's best price of £1,620, while both a Regency style D end dining table, together with a set of 10 dining chairs and a matched set of 12 19th century Sheraton style dining chairs, sold for £1,500.

Other prices included £1,250 for a George III mahogany slope front bureau; £960 for a Georgian mahogany chest of drawers; £920 for a pair of 19th century brass and bronze Marly horses; £880 for a Victorian mahogany bookcase; and £860 for a pair of 20th century mahogany hunt tables.

A watercolour by Norah McGuinness, Cottages Near Ruthmullan, Co Donegal, sold for £800 and a bronze head of a young boy by Marjorie Fitzgibbon fetched £500.
