Chippendale-style display cabinet fetches £1,800

A sum of £1,800 was paid for a Chippendale-style mahogany display cabinet at Town & Country's auction in Clontarf, Dublin, last Sunday, when a set of six William IV mahogany dining chairs with hide seats made £1,600. Other figures at this sale included: £1,450 for both a Chippendale-style mahogany rectangular hall table and an oil called Mullroy Bay, Co Donegal by George Gillespie; £1,400 for a set of six Chippendale-style mahogany dining chairs; and £1,300 for a late Victorian inlaid, mirror-backed sideboard.

£1,850 for mahogany D-end dining table

At last Monday's sale at Moat Park, Wexford, auctioneer R.J. Keighery achieved a figure of £1,850 for a mahogany D-end dining table and £1,400 for an inlaid grandfather clock.
